If you have Aetna health insurance and are interested in acupuncture, you may still have coverage — even though I am an out-of-network provider. The good news is that you can still receive treatment in my office, pay at the time of service, and then be reimbursed directly by Aetna, depending on your plan benefits.

How It Works with Aetna

Here’s the step-by-step process for using your Aetna insurance with my acupuncture clinic:

  1. Pay at Time of Service
    Patients pay for their acupuncture session at the time of their appointment.

  2. Insurance Claim Filing

    • If you’d like, I can file the insurance claim for you directly with Aetna.

    • Alternatively, I will provide you with a detailed superbill (receipt with medical coding) so you can file on your own.

  3. Reimbursement
    Aetna will process your claim and send reimbursement directly to you, according to your out-of-network acupuncture benefits.
